Care professionals required to bring people home

Posted on

This Christmas, there will be hundreds of people in hospitals simply because there’s no care provision to support them in their own homes.

Staff shortages are causing pressures across the health and social care sector, impacting the care services available and therefore unnecessarily taking up NHS resources.

As a result, Care Workers are needed now more than ever, and not just for Christmas. Care Workers play an essential part in helping people to rest, recover and live in the comfort of their own homes after being in hospital, especially the elderly.

Care Champions

At ND Care & Support, we don’t just recruit ordinary Care Workers, we recruit Care Champions who truly make a difference every single day. We need more people to help us provide essential care to individuals throughout Wales, and get people in hospital home as soon as possible.

Jennifer Hards, Recruitment Manager at ND Care & Support, said:

“We’re continuously looking to recruit committed and compassionate workers who can help us to give more people access to high quality domiciliary care.

“Adding more Care Workers to our existing teams of Care Champions will help us to provide even more essential support, like our reablement care packages.

“Through these packages we can ensure people do not have to stay in hospital for any longer than is necessary, as we can deliver the temporary or long-term care required in the comfort of their own homes.”

There are nearly 490,000 carers in Wales (Office for National Statistics 2019) and demand for their skills is set to surge in the years ahead.

The number of elderly people aged 80+ is predicted to increase 44% in Wales by 2030, and our ageing population will need more Care professionals than ever.

Already full of opportunities to progress, the care sector has plenty of potential for people who want to make a vital contribution to communities, especially in Wales.
