Job Description

Female applicants with a full driving license and access to their own care are required for this role.

Do you want a job where you can genuinely get to know the people you support?

At ND Care & Support, our care assistants provide care to people in their own homes, helping them stay independent and comfortable.

You’ll be joining a supportive team, receive ongoing training and support, and have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with the people you care for.

What will you be doing?

Every day is different, but your visits will include things like:

  • Personal and intimate care
Helping with dressing, washing, toileting and other personal care. You must be comfortable providing intimate care with dignity and respect
  • Medication
Supporting people to take their medications safely and on time, in line with their care plans
  • Food preparation and domestic help
Preparing meals, drinks and snacks. Helping people with everyday household tasks like tidying, laundry and keeping the person’s environment safe and comfortable
  • Companionship, conversation and emotional support
One of the key elements of the role. You’ll get to know the people you support, have a chat, listen to what’s important to them and be someone they can rely on. Sometimes just having a familiar, friendly face can make the world of difference to someone’s day
  • Travelling between visits
You will be driving between homes throughout the local area, so it is essential that you have a full driving licence and your own vehicle

Why work for ND Care & Support?

Care work can be challenging, so we believe you should feel supported and rewarded for the difference you make.

  • A friendly team that has your back
You’ll be part of a supportive team where you can ask questions, talk things through, and get help when you need it. We want you to feel comfortable in your role and know you’re not on your own.
  • £15.07 per hour Monday to Friday, £15.63 per hour on weekends
    Rates include rolled-up holiday pay
  • A structured rota with every other weekend off
You’ll work on a planned rota, giving you consistency and letting you know what to expect from your week
Our AM shift runs from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and our PM shift runs from 3:30 PM to 10:00 PM.
  • £250 joining bonus
Complete your first 100 hours and you’ll receive a £250 bonus
  • Paid travel time + 25p per mile
You’ll be paid for the time you spend travelling between the first and last home you visit, and will receive mileage reimbursement
  • Full training and ongoing support
You don’t need years of previous experience in care. We’ll provide all the training and support you need to become confident in your role
  • Enhanced DBS paid for
We reimburse the cost of your Enhanced DBS check (after working 50 hours), so joining our team doesn’t leave you out of pocket
  • Free uniform and PPE
Everything you need to work safely is provided

You don’t need to be an experienced Care Assistant

What matters most is how you treat people. We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Comfortable working independently
  • Happy providing personal and intimate care
  • A good communicator
  • Willing to learn and follow care plans
  • Able to travel between service users
