You go above and beyond to care for our Service Users, and we believe it takes a highly dedicated, passionate and kind-hearted individual to be a good Carer. For this reason, we want to give something back to you, inspirational Care Workers to say thank you for your continued commitment.
As recognition of key workers has grown during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Blue Light Card has surged in popularity and it now gives special access to discounts from 15,000 partners. Care Workers with ND Care & Support can take advantage of the discount service, which now has more offers available than ever before, and we’ll happily cover the cost of membership.
The Blue Light Card is a nationwide discount card scheme that is available to those working in the NHS, emergency services, armed forces, social care and more. The card gives you access to a wide range of discounts from a UK-wide network of hundreds of retailers and venues, saving you money with online shopping and in-store purchases on the high street throughout the year. The card costs just £4.99, which is simply an administration fee, and it’s valid for two years after purchase. However, for our Care Workers, we’re reimbursing this fee, enabling you to have a Blue Light Card free of charge, with access to lots of fantastic discounts every day of the year.
To apply for your own Blue Light Card, you need to create an online account and register. It’s a very quick and easy process – simply fill in an online form. It doesn’t take long at all! Once you’ve purchased your card, ND Care & Support will reimburse you for the full cost when you bring it into the office, so that you’re not out of pocket for long and you’ll be eligible for savings once your card has been activated. This is applicable to Carers working across all three branches of ND Care & Support – Cardiff, Cross Hands and Abertillery.
Once you’ve registered with Blue Light Card and set up your account online, you will have access to a comprehensive list of available discounts from many different retailers on the high street and online. Discounts are available not only for shops but also for restaurants, entertainment, attractions, holidays and services such as car insurance. This means that you can save money every day on the things that you need, enjoy and want throughout the year. What’s not to like?
