Make a real difference in your community

Are you caring, reliable and passionate about helping people live happy, independent and fulfilling lives?

At ND Care & Support, we provide high-quality care and support to people in their own homes and within the community across Bridgend and the surrounding areas.

We are growing our children’s services and are looking for enthusiastic Community Care Workers to join our team. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and young people, while also being happy to support adults in their own homes.

Every person you support is different, which means no two days are the same. You’ll have the opportunity to build genuine relationships, learn new skills and make a meaningful difference to the people and families you support.

What will you be doing?

Your role will vary depending on the people you support, but may include:

  • Supporting children and young people in their own homes and within the community
  • Providing personal care and support where required
  • Supporting adults to remain independent and confident in their own homes
  • Helping with medication, meals and everyday activities
  • Supporting children and adults to access activities and engage with their community
  • Encouraging independence, choice, dignity and confidence
  • Providing companionship and emotional support
  • Following individual care and support plans
  • Completing accurate electronic care records
  • Working closely with families, colleagues and other professionals
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with the people you support

Why join ND Care & Support?

We believe great care starts with great people. That’s why we want you to feel valued, supported and confident in your role.

  • A friendly team that has your back
You’ll be part of a supportive team where you can ask questions, talk things through and get help whenever you need it. You’re never on your own.
  • £15.07 per hour Monday to Friday, £15.63 per hour on weekends
    Rates include rolled-up holiday pay
  • Flexible working pattern
  • £250 joining bonus
Complete your first 100 hours and you’ll receive a £250 joining bonus.
  • Paid travel time + 25p per mile
You’ll be paid for the time spent travelling between the first and last home you visit, plus 25p per mile mileage reimbursement.
  • Full training and ongoing support
You don’t need years of previous experience in care. We’ll provide the training and support you need to become confident in your role.
  • Enhanced DBS paid for
We reimburse the cost of your Enhanced DBS check after you’ve worked 50 hours, so joining our team doesn’t leave you out of pocket.
  • Free uniform and PPE
Everything you need to work safely is provided.

What we’re looking for

You don’t need to have years of experience in care. What matters most is your attitude and the way you treat people.

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Caring, patient and compassionate
  • Reliable and dependable
  • Comfortable supporting both children and adults
  • A good communicator
  • Positive and enthusiastic
  • Flexible and willing to learn
  • Committed to providing person-centred care
  • Respectful of people’s dignity, choices and independence
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team

Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable adults is desirable, but we will consider applicants who have the right attitude and willingness to learn.

A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is required for this role.

Be part of something that’s growing

Our children’s services are expanding, making this an exciting time to join ND Care & Support.

Whether you already have experience in care or you’re looking to take your first step into the sector, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills, build meaningful relationships and make a genuine difference every day.
