Job Description

New Directions Care and Support are looking to recruit a support worker to work with a young Male requiring care in the St Fagan’s area of Cardiff within the Adult Service sector.

Overview of Job Role:

  • As a support worker for New Directions you will be supporting individuals within their own homes or the community.
  • Promoting independence, encouragement and individual’s wellbeing.
  • Developing and maintaining professional working relationships with the individuals we support and their families.
  • Following New Directions Policies and Procedures at all times.

Essential Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to communicate with people on all levels
  • Ability to work on own initiative or part of a team
  • Passionate in supporting adults and children with learning disabilities
  • Previous experience of supporting someone with a brain injury
  • Ability to communicate with people on all levels
  • Ability to work across all Cardiff Area
  • Motivated towards making a positive difference to individuals lives, enabling them to meet their personal goals and aspirations
  • flexibility and reliability is essential in order to maintain consistency for the individuals we support
  • Ability to complete paperwork
  • Must be available to attend induction training and update training (1 week)
  • Car Driver is essential as you may be required to drive mobility vehicle
  • Must be available to work weekends
  • Must be available for sleep in and wake in shifts

Desirable Requirements:

  • Enhanced Adult and Child DBS – Portable
  • QCF Level 2 or above in Health and social Care

ND Care and Support are seeking motivated, honest and reliable individuals to join our team of support workers. ND Care and Support provide community and homecare services for vulnerable adults and children.

Ideally you will have experience of supporting people with a disability and have a full clean driving licence.

We will provide you with full training and the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised Social Care qualification and competitive rates of pay.

All offers of employment are subject to satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS (the cost of which is met by the applicant).
