Job Description

ND Care & Support Abertillery are seeking motivated, honest, Senior Care Workers. Senior Care Workers will perform the same job as a Care Assistant, but often with the additional duties of front line supervision and monitoring of care workers and care assistants, or with additional responsibilities for areas of the work. They often respond to emergencies, and provide guidance and support to care workers.

Senior Care Assistants are responsible for individuals’ overall comfort and wellbeing and help people who need care and support to live as independently as possible. Duties can include:

  • Providing outlooks into the interest and activities in which to stimulate and engage our service users
  • Contributing to record keeping (Monitoring, Spot Checking, Reviewing and Maintaining Records)
  • Liaising with service users/families to ensure smooth running of our services provided
  • Liaising with care workers / assistants within the team on a daily basis
  • Be apart of the Oncall Operative System on a rota basis

To be considered for this role it is essential that you are:

  • Must have a QCF Level 3 or be working towards a QCF Level 3
  • A driver with business insurance
  • Have six months paid care work experience or 12 months relevant voluntary experience
  • Passionate about supporting individuals who require care
  • Willing to work consistently as part of a small team to ensure continuity and consistency for the service user and family unit
  • Flexible and reliable, in order to maintain consistency for the individuals we support
  • Effective in demonstrating good communications skills
  • Willing to embrace diversity and equality at all times
  • All applicants must undertake a robust recruitment procedure and hold a fully enhanced DBS (formerly CRB) check
