A leading domiciliary care provider has opened an office in Buckfastleigh, Devon.

ND Care and Support, who currently have offices in Cardiff (Head Office), Brynmawr and Cross Hand (West Wales) have taken steps to lay down solid foundations in England with the South West base.

Speaking about the launch of the venture, Rebecca Ford, Director of Care for the organisation said ‘our team has been expanding for a number of years. We have taken our time, considered the opportunities presented to us, and Devon is our chosen flagship office for England. Beyond the obvious beautiful surroundings, we feel we can bring a level in quality of care to service users that befits our reputation…we want to translate that to the South West’.

Helen Drury who has over 20 years’ experience within the domiciliary care sector has been appointed Regional Manager for the Devon operation. She says of the investment in the region ‘we are delighted to be opening our doors in the area. My hopes for supporting the service users in Devon are steeped in getting the right staff. We want to offer hours that will suit for mobile individuals (access to a car) given the rural landscape with extremely competitive rates of pay for the sector – up to £10 per hour. The beauty of New Directions Care and Support as an employer is our investment in training for staff – all carers will have access to continuous professional development opportunities. Furthermore all staff who are new to the sector will undertake the national care certificate’.

The organisation has been in operation for almost 15 years and is an award winning outfit – in 2016 the business was named as ‘Best Employer to Work For (under 250 employees)’ at the IRP (Institute of Recruitment Professionals) and this year the team was announced as ‘Best in Domiciliary Recruitment’ winner at the Acquisition International Awards.

Additionally in 2016 New Directions was also named as a ‘Gold Status’ Investors in People (IIP) business.
